Eagle-Eyed Patriots Show Their Pride
March 23, 2007
Felicia Benamon, a political columnist, wrote an article and included many pictures about the Move America Forward rally she attended en route to DC and the Gathering of Eagles. Thank you for your coverage, Fee!
The fierce determination of the eagle shown through in our nation’s capitol. They came from near and far, some as far away as Canada to answer the calling to defend our sacred memorials on March 17, 2007 from anti-war protesters who have been known to get out of control in recent marches.
Ordinary Americans supporting the troops, and proud Vets from past and present wars, met up in Washington D.C. under the banner of the Gathering of Eagles. Approximately 30,000 Eagles came together to show that the voice of the silent majority, those who support the troops and their mission, must be heard!

The……
I sent Felicia a personal note, thanking her for her honest coverage of our efforts in DC. We’re not heroes, per se, we just have the moral courage to be willing to serve the greater good, (our Nation & citizens) at the risk of our own safety and security. Don’t call me hero, just call me Patriot. Kerry “Radar” Leight Eagles up!
From the piece:
“The Eagles, America’s patriotic, will not hesitate to come together and make their petition for the respect of our military if needed. And March 17th will not be the last time!”
You can take that to the bank!!
Thank you Felicia,
I am glad to know that there are some HONEST Reporters left. Our opposition says that we don’t represent what America looks like. I would hope we represent what America stands for.Thank you for your time, for your insite, and your commitment to the truth.
I was present at the Wall w/G.O.E., upon my return to Brunswick County NC I contacted my local grass roots newspaper, The Brunswick Beacon, I spent over one hour with a reporter who wanted to hear what was not reported by eather the MSM or Fox news,AP Wire, ect. I suggest we act local and be vocal back home. You may be as supprised as I was that the local press may value your views and serve to reach others who share our views.I as a retired Army officer, and retired NC police officer will never again stand silent after my chance to stand at the Wall and see I am not alone after all. God bless you and other reporters who find the time to report on a issue the other side of the debate feel is a settled issue with no further need to speak about the matter.
Outstanding job, George! Gerb did something similar, and shared his article with us a day or two ago. Incidentally, he is also from North Carolina.
I hope many of us follow the example of you two fine Americans.
Same here George, my local did print my letter to editor at the end of Feb. They was given all information after 17th and going to do an article, but it has not came out in print yet! CW-2 and retired LEO also. Have a good day.
Oh wait. Yes, I have. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have it in me right now to type it all out again. Besides, it was just ramblings anyway. You didn’t want to hear me go on and on about this, right?
