EMail Updates

March 28, 2007

We have over 1,800 people subscribed to email updates from the site.  Unfortunately, there are a large number of you who are experiencing problems with the form.  I’m getting reports of errors and other weird occurrences.

The email updater is a third-party application.  Without going into too much techie detail, I’ll just say that I’m looking into another option that will allow folks to get their email updates without the crazy errors.  The bad news is that it has to wait until after my FAA exams.  The government doesn’t let you work on aircraft unless you pass, and all that.

At any rate, for those of you who have emailed, please excuse my absence for the next few days.  I have one exam down, and four more exams in the next six days.  Once those are over, I will get to work on fixing some of these errors, I promise.

Thank y’all so much for your patience. I really appreciate it.

– Kit

“the government won’t let you work on aircraft unless you pass”. hmmmmm…

I wonder if there shouldn’t be an exam before you can become a congressman or senator….you know…constitutional law or something.

    Good luck Kit!

IN THE “BRIEFINGS” SECTION I POSTED THE FOLLOWING IN RESPONSE TO A POST BY “SOAPBOX”

    (Just a few ideas.)

    Soapbox,

The only problem I have with your post is that I didn’t get to write it myself. You are absolutely right.

May I make one further suggestion. Writing and calling is fine. But, what really gets their attention is a few dozen constituents showing up at their office and politely asking the congresscritter, “What the @#%& do you think you are doing.

You have to be PREPARED to do this. They will try to dismiss you as a] stupid, b] a warmonger, c] misinformed, or d] out of touch in some other respect. this can be countered by being prpared to deal with their points and objections. Have “talking points, just like the pols. Stick to them. Have YOUR facts straight (be able to point to the media story, congressional finding, whatever factual material supports your point.) They may not agree with you, but they will not be able to dismiss you out of hand.

Most of the reps and senators will have you meet with staff as opposed to the member him/her/it self. That’s OK. The elected representative will get the message that folks back home are not happy that he has wandered over into moonbat territory.

    FOLLOWUP

After visiting your rep in D.C., follow up with a letter thanking him for listening to you. THEN, when Congress is in recess [they are now calling it “home district work period] stop in at the district office. Politely tell the folks there that you visited the D.C. offide and want to follow up.

Always be polite and upbeat. But, make sure that these clowns know you expect an American victory in Iraq. Moreover, emphasize your belief that a premature withdrawal will casue major problems in the future, and that YOU will cast your vote in the next election according to who will best protect America.

NOW, WHO HAS THE TIME TO ORGANIZE SOMETHING LIKE THIS?
