Leftists Disrespect Dead Soldiers

June 28, 2007

San Mateo- Anti war protestors have taken the liberties of our free speech amendment to post the following posters near Military Recruiting Offices.

armytoetagposter.JPGdeadmarineposter.JPG

Eagles, this is despicable! We cannot stand by and let this atrocity continue; think of all the recruiters we have met personally during ORA, think of the men and women who lay down their lives for us and this country’s freedom-for the right of FREE SPEECH.

Eagles, we must band together and counter this as soon as possible. San Mateo cannot see this despicable lack of patriotism.

Gold Stars Stall in Legislature

June 28, 2007

SACRAMENTO - A move to give relatives of those who have died in
military service the chance to buy a special “gold star” license
plate has stalled in the Legislature, sending supporters scrambling
to find a way to crack the impasse.

State Sen. Jeff Denham, R-Merced, says he’s appealing to Senate
Leader Don Perata, D-Oakland, to waive Senate rules and let the bill
move, at the same time he’s working with the administration of Gov.
Arnold Schwarzenegger to try get it done without legislation.

Denham, who was a crew chief on a C-5 Galaxy cargo jet in Saudi
Arabia during the first Gulf War, sponsored the bill after being
approached by parents Michael Anderson of Modesto and Kevin Graves of the Delta’s Discovery Bay. Both have lost sons in Iraq. Read more

Welcome to Hillaryland…

June 27, 2007

Two veteran New York Times reporters — with almost 42 years of combined experience — decide to tell the true story of Hillary Clinton in a new biography.  In doing so they are attacked by their own newspaper.  These reporters continued on, despite the fact that Hillary Clinton and her staff offered stiff resistance to the book project entitled “Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton” by Jeff Gerth and Don Van Atta Jr., the authors have published one of the most compelling and exhaustive biographies of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Importantly, “Her Way” is the first book to delve into Hillary’s mysterious activities as a U.S. Senator. Read more

Cheney’s Office Subpoenaed

“Senate Committee Seeks Information on Eavesdropping”

(Story Written by Laurie Kellman, AP)
WASHINGTON - The Senate subpoenaed the White House and Vice President Dick Cheney’s office Wednesday, demanding documents and elevating the confrontation with President Bush over the administration’s warrant-free eavesdropping on Americans.

“If there have been lies told to us, we’ll refer it to the Department of Justice and the U.S. attorney for whatever legal action they think is appropriate,” Leahy told reporters.

The escalation is part of the Democrats’ effort to hold the administration to account for the way it has conducted the war on terrorism since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Read more

June 27, 2007

(Excerpt from AP Press story written by Anne Flaherty)

“We must not abandon our mission, but we must begin a transition where the Iraqi government and its neighbors play a larger role in stabilizing Iraq,” Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio, wrote in a letter to Bush.

Voinovich, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released his letter Tuesday - one day after Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, the panel’s top Republican, said in a floor speech that Bush’s strategy was not working. Read more

America Supports You Freedom Walk: Washington, DC

June 25, 2007

America Supports You Freedom Walk Logo
When: Sunday, September 9, 2007 9:00 AM
Where: Walk from the Mall to the Pentagon

As a way to honor and remember the victims of 9/11/01, their families and our men and women in uniform, Pentagon employees planned and organized the first Freedom Walk in September 2005. Every year, the number of participants in this Freedom Walk increases as awareness of the memorial walk spreads. People are putting on their walking shoes and joining with others in remembering 9/11 while enjoying an early fall walk from the Lincoln Memorial to the Pentagon.

Cities and towns across America are encouraged to organize their own Freedom Walk for those who wish to participate in honoring and remembering 9/11 but are unable to attend the walk in DC. The organizers goal for 2007 is to have several Freedom Walks in every state.

The event is open to the public and free of charge. Bring yourself, bring your best friend, bring your family, bring your fellow Eagles to this unforgettable event.

We have registered and are waiting for you to join us in DC. What are you waiting for? Run, do not walk to your nearest computer and register right now!

Generation 3 GOE: New GOE Site

June 24, 2007

GOE has evolved into the Generation 3 website!

GOE requests your patience while we continue with this process.

Kit and Anthony are working around the clock to fix all technological kinks and errors that have occurred during the change-over. Please remember that they have both worked extra hard and put alot of time into the GOE Gen. 3 to bring you a site that is faster, easier, and has more features that have been requested, such as:

  • An integrated forum allowing you to only use ONE username and password for everything on GOE.
  • A chatroom for real-time planning and socialization between Eagles.
  • Easier navigation and readability.

We thank all of you for your patience! Please continue to be patient as we change over.

Also, for all errors or problems regarding the new website, please email webmaster@gatheringofeagles.org. For all feedback, please email Gabi at gabrielle.pike@gatheringofeagles.org. This will ensure that Kit and Anthony have ample time to repair site issues.

Thank You!

Update by Anthony,

I have already received about 1 mill. emails about access to the old forums and it’s content. You may access the old forum data at: Forum Archive Please transfer any important data from the old forums to the new forums. The forum archive will not be around forever, it is insecure and wastes many of the servers resources.

Update by Kit: 0205 hours

We’re aware of the issue in Internet Explorer 7.  It is the ONLY browser that has problems with the site, and so we’re working on this as quickly as possible.

Please don’t send Anthony and I nasty emails about how you hate the site.  This is technologically the most sound version of GOE yet.  Please be patient while we get things squared away.

Also…if you’re having problems getting into the new forum, use your SITE password–NOT your old forum password.

The Passing of a Hero

June 23, 2007

Hero from Another Era
Credit to: James Bancroft

Charles W. Lindberg died Sunday. Not a common household name. Yet he is a hero from a war past. A Marine, recipient of the Silver Star medal, the last survivor of the Iwo Jima flag raising. Although not of the Marines immortalized by Joe Rosenthal. Mr. Lindberg was one of six who raised the first American flag over Iwo Jima. It is a sad footnote that monthly we are losing hundreds of our heroes from WWII. A generation the likes of which we thought we would never see again. Yet, every time our country has gone to war, we have been proud to say our men and women serving are the best our great nation has. Today is no exception. Read more

Daily Contemplation: Reflection of Soldiers

June 22, 2007

(Excerpt of letter written by Chaplain Jim Higgins on 5/14/07.
LSA Anaconda)

“Suddenly there was a lone voice, then a dozen, and quickly the room was filled with the voices of a thousand Soldiers ‘And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?’ It was the most inspiring moment I have had here in Iraq. I wanted you to know what kind of Soldiers are serving you here.” Read more

Democrats Back Down, Troops Morale Boosted

June 22, 2007

(Excerpt By Amir Taheri, New York Post)

The morale of both U.S. and Iraqi troops has been
boosted by the decision by the Democrat Party to tone
down its campaign against U.S. military commitment to
Iraq. There is a feeling in Baghdad that the
possibility of America opting for a cut-and-run
strategy has decreased. That, in turn, has encouraged
the Iraqi military to stop hedging its bets and enter
the battle with greater resolve. Read more

What One Person Can Do

June 22, 2007

Eagles! Many of us wonder what good it does for just a single person to get involved in exposing or combating evil. Well, here’s a great example. Master Sergeant Anthony Johnston went to a website, found something absolutely despicable, and found the right person to complain to: our very own Viper Ash, AKA Gary Assell. Viper’s newsletter immediately highlighted the story, and the results are in: Zazzle.com has withdrawn the offending (and cruel and tasteless) tee shirt from its offerings.

“Well done, Viper!”
