Allright Eagles, where are my 36 Absolutely! Voters and the 47 “Unsure if can attend” Voters??

Eagles-this is for a great cause! A night where veterans are treated like royalty! A night where they are truly appreciated for the sacrifices they have made.

Look it cost GOE over $10,000 to do this so please, don’t make this event be an empty house! GOE really wants this event to take off! If this event flops~GOE is out the money, the veterans wont feel so appreciated and it wont become an annual event with each state eventually hosting (per turn).

Eagles, even I, the broke-just-graduated-from-college-student has been setting aside money to attend and help fund this event. Please, I know that $100.00 is not cheap but, if I can do it—you can too!

    Gabi

I never was one of the “Absolutley” nor one of the “unsure”,I’m just proud to have served in the nam.
Of course this is just my opinion however for close to forty years most Vietnam veterans have never been “treated like Royalty” or had a day or night where we were anything other than what we are. Vietnam Veterans. Those who claim the name “HERO” if they are truly combat veterans can’t feel like anythingmore than men who went to war , survived and returned to people who ignored them ( like not answearing ones mail) .
we are quiet heros gabi and I say that with the most humility I can . All of the heros I know have their names on a black wall in D,C. ,or simply have been forgotten.
Some have been ostrasized like me when I volunteered to you and never heard back from you. Or Like the way kit has me blocked from writing to the management because of a conflict she has withm me.
I’m not sure what years she served in a combat zone.
Nam vets need more than one day of being recogonized there wounds are deep and many are unseen , I have Both.
God Bless you for tryng but maybe if you, kit and larry remeber ALL vietnam veterans are equal regardless of your personal differances with a veteran.
Most of us are all hurting but wont admit it and dont need facey meals just respect for each of us unless it’s proven we dont deserve such respect.
You asked ma’am and I am telling you my thoughts.I’m sure someone will write something much better layed out but the story will be the same.
    God Bless
and thankyou for reposnding to my letter Dave Rennie

PS this will never be posted but I feel better writing it .

Dave, I have expressed how you are excepted as one of us. Just by the mere fact that your post is above mine should be reasuring enough for ypu my brother. I told you I would roll beside you in DC and I will roll into the dinning room with you at the dinner. I am having a difficult time understanding your feelings. I have checked and your are not blocked from any part of GOE. Whatever your difference is with the leadership, rise above it and soar like the Eagle you are. Just remember, ALL of us carry the scars of battle and we are in this TOGETHER.
I will back track and try to find your email address so we can yak, ok. Love ya brother, no matter what.

    Eagles Uuupppp !!!

    Dave
I realize it ain’t much but, thank you for your service and sacrifice. You are not forgotten!
Know that you are in my prayers.

  6. Gabi on July 20th, 2007 9:26 pm

    Dave,
I received no email from you for volunteering for the event. Had I received one you would have been welcomed proudly. In addition, I have no problems with any veteran-please ask your fellow brothers at arms. I, though perhaps young and naive as I am, see ALL veterans as heroes; I see all Veterans as deserving of, at the minimum, a single night full of gratitude and thankfulness from those of us you fought for. The event will not be just about honoring those veterans who still live among us today but also will be honoring those that sacrificed their all for us as well. Your fellow servicemembers and veterans deserve at the minimum a day of royalty, a day of peace, and a day to be proud for the sacrifices all have made. My goal is to give that day to you and all veterans. Please, do not be despaired-this event is coordinated by me with the help of great people. In no way is this event about personal differences or beliefs but rather about thanking all who gave selflessly.

My apologies if I have given the impression That my writing was in “despair”. far from it . I was simply stating the facts as I myself know them.
I hope everyone that signed up shows up to the event and all have a wonderful time I can think of noone more than my brothers and sisters who deserve such a day.
Dan i will gladly roll my chair up next to you on the front line and do so with honor. Good luck and God Bless all

I am amazed how unpatriotic your organization has become. In the face of such corruption of big government to support a war that is tearing our military in half, destroying our national security and defacing what America stands for. Our nation was founded by men and women courageous enough to stand up to the oppressive British crown and were critical of the the ruling powers. We live in a country that defines itself on the Democratic Rights of free men. A country were our government should act according to the will of it’s people. We get dictated to by the administration on what to think, feel and do. Bush is not a Conservative, not a Cristian and not a good American. Look through the red, white and blue glitter and you will see that America needs hard working citizens that are brave enough to stand up against a more powerful big government to do what’s right, bring the troops home now!

    concerned american,

  11. Paul Couturier - OIF Vet on July 22nd, 2007 7:23 pm

    Hey concerned “american”,

I see you’re with that GUTLESS and UNAMERICAN and ANTIMILITARY group called Iraq “veterans” Against the War.

So what are YOU doung to support the troops AND THEIR MISSION so that we CAN bring the troops home??????? NOT A DAMN THING, I bet!!!!!!!!!!

And FYI, I’ve been to Iraq myself. Wassamatta, were you one of those pissy-ass “soldiers” who skated through basic training, and then was insulted when you found out you had to actually GO TO WAR????? WHAT THE HELL do you think armies to??????????? WHAT THE HELL did you think you were joining when you signed on that dotted line, the BOY SCOUTS???????????

If you had been one of my soldiers, I would have given your ass the biggest, baddest bad-conduct discharge in the history of the Army!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do us all a favor and crawl back under that rock that your gutless UNPATRIOTIC ass came from! I’m not afraid to take on gutless anti-military extremists like you; just ask the “american” “friends” “service” “committee” chapter in Chicago what I did to their asses back in May at the Chicago Navy Yard!!!!!!!!

  12. deputydan on July 22nd, 2007 8:44 pm

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Paul, will I get to meet you on Sept. 22nd?

    To concerned american:

The veterans on this website, that you are attempting to slander by saying they’re not patriotic, did their time in hell so that you can write your stupid comments here. When you refer to our corrupt government, I suggest you do your homework and look up the corruption associated with John Murtha, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, and then read the rantings of the Muslim wackjob Ellison. There’s enough corrupt Liberal politicians in DC for all of us to point fingers at.

The Democratic rights of free men that you refer to won’t exist after the Liberal Democrats in Congress destroy our Constitution and take away all our freedoms. You’re worshipping the wrong crowd and are being used.

    DeputyDan,

Is that an invitation to come to Chicago for that cool dinner on the 22nd? :oD

  16. Gabi on July 26th, 2007 10:12 pm

    Paul,
You come on up and get ur ass here! This awesome dinner is for you and your brothers and sisters in arms!! Spread the word! The more people you let know about it-the better! Scream it from the mountain tops-GOE knows how to party and we know how to take care of our troops!! You guys earned a day of ROYAL RESPECT (actually a lifetime of it) and we are gonna make damn sure you get it!

Eagles-you want to show Sheehan and her moonbats who has our soldiers’ backs? Show up to the dinner-show the troops who takes care of them. Better yet, show the people of America who takes care of our soldiers!

Let America know that when you screw with a military servicemember-you screw with an Eagle! Show them how strong we are united! The attendance at this dinner will resonate not only to Sheehan and her low lifes, but to the people who have Congress in their pockets!

They will be thinking “If GOE can throw this amazing shindig and the soldiers actually felt honored and respected-well hell, we have to listen to their voice!”

Eagles, shouting from the streets is one battle, but money talks in America more than voices-let’s give these money grubbers hell and show them Eagles can Party!

Cant wait to see you all there!

    -Gabi

“Wherever patriotism is needed, Eagles will fly. Wherever an Eagle flies-the Infantry follows, HOOAH!”
