Bus Information for PA-OH-WV
August 30, 2007
Dear PA, OH and WV Eagles,
Right now, I have 40 seats on the bus firmly sold. That leaves me with 16 empty seats at this moment. I priced the bus fare of $45.00 to be as inexpensive as possible (breakfast included), so as many people as possible could afford to go.
My challenge: With 16 unsold seats, I am going to be $720.00 short to pay Anderson Coach and Travel in full (Total $2404.00 for the 56 passenger bus). My final payment (being made by V V A 862) will be due in a few days.
I need help to raise the remaining funds so that we can all go to Washington DC on September 15th—–I just can’t personally pay the extra $720 all by myself. One way or another, we are going, come hell or high water!
While I am still actively trying to sell the additional seats myself, here are other possibilities that you could help with:
1. Talk to your friends and acquaintances and invite them to come with you…$45.00 is a cheap trip to Washinfton DC and will be exciting and historic! Plus, we’ll have a blast!
2. Any of you Eagles that are not able to go this time might consider donating (1) $45.00 seat to someone who can’t afford to go—-this would be a great way to still participate! (My husband, Chuck is donating 2 free seats…$90.00…to get this ball rolling!)
3. Each of us that are going could volunteer to pay an extra $18.00 each to make up the balance due (if I sell more or all seats–I will refund your $18.00).
4. If you know someone who is rich and patriotic, ask them to cut V V A 862 a check for $720.00…I’ll check to see if we could get them a non-for-profit tax donation receipt.
5. If you know the Indiana Power Ball Winner, please ask them to send V V A 862 a check for the balance of what we owe.
6. I’ll entertain any other suggestions that you can come up with–please contact me with any ideas!
***Any money to help offset our shortfall can be sent to:
Vietnam Veterans Of America
Beaver County Chapter 862

Beaver Falls, Pa. 15010
Make checks to V V A 862
One exciting update: In our company on Sept. 15th, we will have a number of patriotic riders from The War Dogs Motorcycle Club riding along with our bus on their motorcycles to Washington DC. We will likely have a few on our bus, as well. Welcome War Dogs!
Things are really picking up for the September 15th showdown with the “moonbats”. More and more Veteran and patriotic groups are endorsing Eagles Landing/GOE III daily. Press conferences and radio interviews are increasing as well. I will let you know when Larry Richert of Pittsburgh’s KDKA AM Radio Show will be interviewing my Father, Col. Harry G. Riley (USA, Ret) on the Sept. 15th event.
If anyone is interested in an “Eagles Up” Tee shirt, you can order one at the Eagles Up online store at this link: http://www.printfection.com/eaglesup/ (I have no financial interest).
OK everyone, it’s time to get fired up to STAND for OUR TROOPS and VETERANS! May God Bless America and Eagles, everywhere!

A Message to Eagles From Melanie Morgan
August 29, 2007
From: Melanie Morgan, Move America Forward
To: Eagles Everywhere!
I want to thank Eagles from across the country who have read and responded to Kit’s alert about the death threats against me.
When I receive these e-mails I just shake my head and wonder –when did it become so wrong and reviled in this country to stand-up and be counted as a proud patriot, someone who loves her country and the men and women who selflessly serve it? What goes through the mind of these sick, twisted individuals when they threaten to kill me, my husband, my children and say disgusting things that they are too chicken(bleep) to say out loud to anyone else?
It matters not to me. I am protected by a forcefield of love from above, and here in this wonderful country.
We are all blessed to be part of a larger movement to honor and recognize the TRUE heroes—the guys and gals I had the honor of meeting in Iraq, those who are serving in Afghanistan and faraway bases across the globe and who served honorably and with distinction in past wars.
None of us can rest until we gather together and soar in Washington, D.C. September 15th, or throughout our tour across 27 cities of America that begins this Monday in Carson City, Nevada.
This is by far the largest task Move America Forward has undertaken, but we are joined YOU– Gathering of Eagles, Eagles Up, Vets for Freedom, Freedom Watch, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and dozens of other pro-troop organizations WHO UNDERSTAND THAT WE MUST WIN THIS WAR, OR LOSE THIS COUNTRY.
Come join us! Besides being a ton of fun (meeting other patriots) you are watching the backs of our soldiers while they watch ours! It will be your legacy to your children and grand-children!
With Warmest Regards,
Melanie Morgan

Moonbats Threaten Move America Forward-GOE Caravan
August 27, 2007
Eagles! Don’t let these people interfere with Melanie and her Move America Forward caravan!
It has come to our attention that our good friends at Move America Forward are being targeted by the anti-American left. It is not enough that these ultra-liberal forces think it fine to disparage our men and women in uniform. They are now targeting our supporters as they make their way to stand with us in Washington, DC, on 15 September.
They have threatened Melanie Morgan personally and have used the vilest language to harass our friends. Obviously, they have underestimated our resolve and the resolve of our friends in Move America Forward. This is their last-ditch attempt to derail the
counter-protest we have in store for A.N.S.W.E.R.
Turn out in force to welcome Move America Forward as they make their way across the country. These people must be reminded that the silent majority is silent no more!
Unite For Victory!

GOE III Update!
August 23, 2007
With less than four weeks to go before GOE’s September Surge actions in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 10 and Sept. 15, this is where we stand: We need your help!
Our Congressional lobbying day on Sept. 10 is looking to be perfectly timed as all indications are that Gen. Petraeus is going to testify before Congress the following day, Sept. 11.
We will be holding a morning press conference/rally at Upper Senate Park on Capitol Hill on Monday, Sept. 10, tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m., to kick off our day-long lobbying in support of victory in Iraq. GOE is inviting spokesmen from other groups and pro-victory Congressmen and Senators to join us. While we are not expecting thousands of Eagles to join us on a work day so soon before the main event on the 15th, a strong turnout by Eagles is needed and would go a long way in sending a message of support for our troops in harm’s way, and their mission, to wavering Congressmen and Senators.
While the event on Sept. 10 will not cost much money, GOE III on Sept. 15 will. We need to raise $30,000 ASAP–$15,000 of that is needed by next Friday, so we can start making deposits to the companies we will be contracting with.
To put it one way, we need 300 people to donate $100 each. The main costs are for staging, sound, security, porta-potties and ambulance service.
We are working out details for locations with the Park Service. As it looks now, we will be holding the morning rally on the National Mall either at 4th Street or 7th Street. As we did on March 17, plan to arrive early and stay all day on Saturday, Sept. 15. The rally will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end by 11:30 a.m. so that we can all get to ANSWER’s march route on time.
We have a permit application to line the sidewalk along ANSWER’s march route. The precise locations are also being negotiated with the Park Service.
We should be able to announce precise locations for the rally and march route after Wednesday, Sept. 5.
I understand that some of you don’t feel the same urgency as when the Vietnam Wall was threatened last March, while others have been put off by the post-March 17 schisms.
Personally, I’ve felt the same sense of urgency since Sept. 11, 2001. I vowed then that I would not allow the anti-American left to do to this generation of servicemen and women what they did to the Vietnam veterans: Deny them the victory they earned on the battlefield by destroying morale on the home front.
This September is make or break. We cannot allow Congress to repeat the betrayal of the Vietnam era. We need to pull together, and the fact of the matter is that GOE is putting on the Sept. 15 rally and counter-demonstration. Every other group is coming together that day under our name and efforts.
We need you to stand with us and our troops next month in D.C. In the meantime, we need your help. Please send your most generous contribution to: GOE, Box 291, Chocowinity, NC 27817. You can also donate online here with a credit card or Paypal account.
Thank you.

Always Faithful
August 22, 2007
I learned, shortly after accepting the position as National Director for Operations that I would not be able to help every one of our brave warriors that needed help. I promised myself that I would try tirelessly on each. For the most part, I handle the issues as they arise through various official and quasi-official organizations. This is a case where I need some numbers though and a place where every one of you can help. The Marine below apparently isn’t receiving much mail while he recovers in a San Antonio Military Hospital. From the information provided he was deployed to Iraq in Jan 07, shot in the lower back Feb 07 and can not move his leg. He is in the spinal cord unit at the Hospital.
Please take a moment and drop this valiant defender of freedom a get well card. I know you had no plans to go to the drug store today and you never know which card to buy. This Marine will not care what the card looks like. What will matter to him is that people from hundreds, or even thousands of miles away will show tacit proof that they care. He is paralyzed because he volunteered to defend freedom. Can’t we all expend the time and effort to get him a card to show him that his sacrifice means the world to us? Pick up a card, write Thank You for Your Service Lance Cpl, Get Well, sign it and drop it in the mail. I promise you that whatever your day has been like to that point, it will improve. I may not be able to help them all, but, with your help, I can make a difference in this brave warrior’s life. Thank you. Manchu.

Let Us Know Where You Want To Go
August 21, 2007
Larry Stiles has been installed as the Deputy Director, Political Affairs for the Gathering of Eagles. He has been registered as an official lobbyist to advance the cause of veterans on Capitol Hill. He is the newest weapon in our multi-pronged “Troops, Troops Nothing but the Troops” efforts. Larry will lead the political charge. He is well-suited to the challenge and has our full support.
Stiles is a United States Marine Corps Vietnam veteran. He attended the University of Maryland and LaSalle Extension University School of Law.
His previous work experience included positions representing veteran’s organizations in negotiations and liaison activities with officials of the White House, Congress and other federal agencies.
Stiles also does volunteer work as a guardian ad litem. He is an advocate for abused and neglected children and makes recommendations regarding the placement and treatment for children who come from broken families.
This is your chance to direct our efforts. We recognize that to truly help our men and women in harm’s way that we have to enter the political arena in a professional, coordinated way. Larry will direct that cause, but can only act with your help. Let us know how you think we should continue this movement.
Larry will be making appointments for those of us who will be participating in Task Force Eagle on 10 September. Read his blurb below and get back to him with all your questions, comments and home addresses so he can reach out to the relevant members of Congress.
We are, as always, counting on you all. This is a case of us instilling a sense of urgency in you. Remember, our brave warriors in uniform are counting on us to guard their backs while they are far from home. It is not enough for us to counter the anti-America protestors in the street. We must let Congress know that the valiant American warriors fighting for us in the Middle East have our full support. This is the chance we have all been wanting: We can directly support those who are sacrificing so much for us. It all begins with us. If we collectively raise our voices Congress will have to listen. Remember, not only would our warriors do it for you, they already are. Manchu.

Eagles Needed in TEXAS September 1, 2007!
August 21, 2007
Presidential candidates, congress members and the world media will be in Fort Worth,Texas attending the Texas Republican Straw Poll Townhall Convention on September 1, 2007 - days prior to General Petreaus’ report to the nation about the ongoing war and occupation in Iraq. Americans from across the country will descend on Fort Worth to express their opinion on the war. With a massive outlet for Eagles to express their pro-troop feelings, the anti-war demonstrators have decided to go all out. For example, Texans for Peace has issued the following: “You are invited to join in the “American People’s Poll on Iraq - Texas Townhall” rally and other events to demonstrate where you stand and call to End the War! Bring Our Troops Home Now!” while distributing the following posters throughout the DFW Metroplex:
One Dead Soldier, Blood is Red, Funding the War, Save Our Soldiers, Whose Side, and War is Failure.
Texans for Peace, The Dallas Peace Center, Code Pink, Veterans against the War, Iraq Veterans against the War, and Peace Action Texas have decided to canvas the poll from 9am to 5pm outside of the Fort Worth Convention Center. The will also be gathering from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm on Main Street to rally. Read more
Fallen But Never Forgotten
August 19, 2007
Kory Wiens and his dog Cooper are my desktop wallpaper, a reminder that teamwork, sacrifice, and service to country are paramount.
The first military working dog team killed in action together since the beginning of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were laid to rest together July 18.
Cpl. Kory D. Wiens, 20, of the 94th Mine Dog Detachment, 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and his partner, Cooper, were killed July 6 by an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Muhammad Sath, Iraq. They had been in Iraq since January.
The cremated remains of Wiens and Cooper, a Labrador retriever, were buried together at Salt Creek Cemetery in Wiens’ hometown of Dallas, Ore., at the request of his family, said Master Sgt. Matt McHugh, the family’s casualty assistance officer.
“Kory referred to Cooper as his son, that’s now much of a team they were,” McHugh said.
It is men like these that we honor as Eagles. Let us never forget them, and never stop doing whatever needs to be done to see that they are treated as the heroes they are.

After-Action Report: 17 August 2007, 1800 Hours Washington, NC
August 19, 2007
The Moonbats assembled in Washington, NC sank to a new low yesterday. As usual their crowd was small but larger than the week before. The Eagles responded to the call of battle and once again we had to chase their coward asses down the street since they do not want to stand in front of us and defend ‘who the hell knows’ their position.
The City of Washington was putting on a “block party” of music, food and dancing for the young people of Washington. I dare say there were a good thousand plus of teens, parents and the citizens of the wonderful city of Washington in attendance.
And then came the ROLLING THUNDER of Jacksonville, NC Chapter on their beautiful bikes accompanied by wives and friends. They also had many lady riders as well. What a beautiful sight to hold. They cruised by with their flags flapping in the breeze, their stereos blaring the Marine Corp Hymn, Anchors A Weigh, Star Spangled Banner and many others songs.
The Moonbat Scumbags were absolutely blown away. They were mortified! They had the pangs of fear sweep through their bodies and I think one of them peed in their pants. After a couple of “gun runs”, er… passes!, they parked their beautiful steeds of steel and walked up to our position on the line in their full regalia and hats.
I started laughing when the Moonbats came together in a huddle and I heard one exclaimed “Holy Sh*t” they are coming up here to get us. I think I could speak for the whole crowd of Eagles saying how proud we were to be an Eagle and a Vietnam Vet and see these brothers and sisters coming up to join us at our battle line. It was better than seeing the Cavalry save the day!
Now for the sad part of the evening. This demonstrates the MoonBat Scumbags will resort to anything. Because they were vastly outgunned, they begin to grab young people and anyone who would listen to them to recruit them on the spot to counter the Eagles. They especially went after the young people. They put these young teens IN FRONT OF THEM TO PROTECT THEMSELVES….! Just like the NVA would put innocent children and women in the front lines knowing the Americans would not fire on innocents!
How damn low can you get. Now the sickening part!
Many of the young people rode by blew their horns in support of the Eagles. Some wandered across the street and were mobbed by the Moonbats to sign their petition. Of one group of teens (5 in number) were conned into holding up signs for the Moonbats; “TEENS FOR PEACE” and the real low one a young lady probably sixteen years old holding a sign “FU*K BUSH”. The other disgusting sign was shown by a young lad, maybe 18-20 “POT FOR PEACE.”
Most of the Eagles on the field last night are fathers, mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers. Imagine yourself recruiting children to stand in front lines to protect yourself and then display signs of filth and disrespect. These Moonbats have NO HONOR, NO RESPECT, NO LOVE OF CHILDREN AND NOTHING ELSE but their own personal greed and stupid, moronic code of hate.
I am more proud of being an Eagle than ever before. All of us out there should be proud. We will win! We will see the face of America change. Our fathers generation screwed it up and we are going to fix it. I cannot imagine how much our brothers on the Wall are proud of us. If we could see them for day, I think they would say, “Well Done”.
LOOK OUT MOONBATS. YOUR DAY OF RECKONING IS AT HAND!
EAGLES UP, CLAWS OUT, INBOUND FOR THE PREY!
Rep. Murtha’s office hangs up when asked about the Haditha Marines

Eagles on Traveling Wall Escort Duty in Ohio
August 17, 2007
Contributed by Luke Patrino, GOE State Coordinator, Ohio
First, I want to thank all the law enforcement agencies that helped make the escort a safe ride for all who took part: The Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Wood and Henry Co. Sheriff’s Departments, and the Napoleon Police Department. A huge thank you to these public servants.
More then 600 motorcycles left Napoleon Harley Davidson and rode to North Baltimore, where we met hundreds more at The Wall. The 8 mile caravan traveled north on I-75 to Route 6. As soon as we turned west on Rt. 6 we started seeing people waving flags sitting in their front yards and cheering as we rode by. The 30 mile ride on 6 showed the true American Spirit here in the heartland. I had tears in my eyes as thousands cheered and waved at us riding by. Hundreds turned out as we passed through Weston and McClure. When we arrived in Napoleon our route through the city was lined with supporters. All this on a Thursday morning and afternoon, I wonder if anyone went to work yesterday.

Coalition military deaths in Iraq hit 4,000
August 17, 2007
(Story contributed by CNN)
The gloomy milestone was reached as a U.S. general said there has been a rise in insurgents booby-trapping houses.
Most of the fatalities throughout the Iraq war — almost 3,704 — have been U.S. military service members. That number also includes seven civilians working for the Pentagon.
The nearly 300 others hail from countries, such as Italy, Poland and Ukraine, that have supported the U.S. effort, which began in March 2003. Read more
