Stop Democrats From Tying the Hands of Our Troops

September 23, 2007

This comes in from our friends at Vets For Freedom:

As a pro-mission veterans group Vets For Freedom supports General Petraeus and his recommendations for victory in Iraq. Lately many of our nation’s senators have attempted to hamper the military’s ability to implement those recommendations, and as a result have made our ability to win in Iraq and Afghanistan all the harder. Ohio Senator George Voinovich is one such senator.

Last week Ohio veterans taking part in the Vets For Freedom trip to Capitol Hill had a meeting with Senator Voinovich. At the end of the meeting the senator gave them a copy of his proposed resolution that would set timelines for Petraeus’ recommendations. The resolution has not yet been introduced to the Senate but we at Vets For Freedom feel it is necessary to condemn the proposed resolution outright.

As veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan we understand the battlefield is constantly changing. Any attempt to set strict timelines for the military can be potentially harmful as a result. While Senator Voinovich may believe he has the best interest of the military in mind we believe General Petraeus should be allowed to operate without politicians hampering his ability to do his job.

Vets For Freedom urges senators to support victory against America’s enemies by allowing the military to do its job free from political constraints. Instead of more resolutions what we call for is support for General Petraeus as he has already shown his policies like the ‘surge’ in Iraq are working. Given more time we believe the quickest way out of Iraq is through victory.

Contact Senator Voinovich and Tell him not to propose legislation that would tie the hands of our military. It is not up to congress to tell our Generals how to fight the war. Also, voice your support for General Petraeus and victory in Iraq. Urge him to allow the military to do its job through to completion.

Senator Voinovich-(202) 224-3353

“…the quickest way out of Iraq is through victory”

There were no weapons of mass destruction found. Check.

Saddam was found, tried and convicted and his sentence of death was carried out. Check

The Iraqi government was formed. Check.

They held their first democratic election. Check.

Iraqi police and security forces are operating. Check.

What else does victory mean? Can anyone define “victory” in terms of Iraq?

    AP 9/15
Senator George Voinovich calls President Bush’s plan for the Iraq war, presented Thursday night, a good step forward, but says but it fell short of the more sweeping change needed in Iraq.

A spokesman for the Ohio Republican says Voinovich wants the president to announce a comprehensive plan to leave Iraq.

Voinovich has been viewed by both the White House and war critics as a key war-policy vote. Until yesterday, he had been largely silent about Iraq in the weeks since a visit to Baghdad.

Voinovich says he wants to find a middle ground on when and how to withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq, one that would attract support from Republicans and Democrats.

We are non-partisan, we just don’t like Dems, cauz they’re 99% surrender monkeys. We can also strongly disagree with surrender monkey Republicans too. These moonies are funny, hanging around looking for contradictions… so childish… The site has a Mission Statement drafted ny the leadership, they stand by it. WE, as Eagles, can say what we want about anyone; we’re just members, not automatons. Get lost!

    eman_resu ( whatever that means ),

Mushmouth Assholedinijad is doing everything he can to make sure we don’t pull out of Iraq anytime soon.

He has sided with Russia, China, Syria, Venezuela and others to help keep the Battle going until he can fulfill his wish of defeating the Two Satans.

That is Israel and the U.S.

Everytime he makes a speech at the UN and also at Columbia Univ. he speaks of the Return of the Mahdi.

He wants to keep the Middle East in war and chaos in order for the return of the Mahdi( the 12th Imam ) to Iraq.

Problem is, nobody listens to what he says.

So, if your waiting on Victory, it’s not going to be anytime soon. At least not till we take care of Iran.

    That’s just my opinion.

I don’t know how old you are, but don’t be surprised if the Draft is started up again.

I heard a rumor that 4 of the front running democrats in the presidential nominee race, have made statments that withdrawing from Iraq before we clean things up might not be the right course of action. Although they said Clinton still wants to cut & run. Could it be that these people are hearing what some of the pro American groups like us and others are saying. Have the phone calls , e-mails & letters finally started to pay off? I hope so. This is an Amertican problem and Americans must stand tall and get it fixed!
Has anyone heard anything about this?
Or maybe I’m just hoping too hard!

Got something to say?
