It was a very dastardly deed to vandalize the Confederate Monument on the Capitol grounds by spraying black paint on the Confederate veterans on the monument.
Thousands of dollars has just been spent on repairs and refurbishing the monument so it could continue to be a major tourist attraction for the state of Alabama.
The monument is a memorial to the 30,000 Alabama veterans who lost their lives in defense of their homes during the War for Southern Independence.
It is a disgrace to vandalize a soldier’s monument and especially on Veteran Day weekend. It is an insult to all veterans past, present and future.
