AAR: New England IVAW
January 29, 2008
Eagles! Our fellow Eagles in New England/NY really put on a good demonstration on Saturday. The photographer/interlocutor is Jim Bancroft, USMC. Thanks to all the “local” Eagles who came out in this frigid weather to confront IVAW/VVAW as they tried to raise funds and plan for their WSI2 “hearing.”

Urgent: Help Save a Hospital For Vets
January 29, 2008
Eagles!
Sometimes we run across a cause other than confronting moonbats, and one of our Eagles, Jim Brewer, has brought to our attention an impending medical disaster for veterans of the area around Greer, SC.
Short story is that Allen Bennett Hospital in Greer is closing and in so doing is depriving local veterans of much-needed convenient health care. The community is actively pushing the VA to take over the hospital, the Department of Veterans Affairs is dragging its feet. All VA has to do is say, “Yes,” and the institution will be signed over to it.
The newspaper article at the link explains what is happening.
Is there any Eagle or group of Eagles who would volunteer to look into this sad situation and organize a GOE effort to save the hospital? If so, please contact me, Larry Bailey, at larrywb@suddenlink.net for details on how to proceed.
Thanks!
Larry

They Are Not Forgotten
January 24, 2008
Like everyone else who has worn the uniform, the title of this post has a particular resonance for me. It is more than just a catchy slogan. It is my blood oath to my brothers who never came home. It is my honor bound obligation to remember the sacrifice our POW/MIAs have made, and to remember them with love, honor and respect. Obviously, I am preaching to the choir here, and you are probably wondering why.
I am relating this because for some months now we have been fighting the good fight here in Philadelphia. During the baseball playoffs we noticed that some teams fly the POW/MIA flag, while most do not. An entity that made over $6,000,000,000 last year has told me personally that it is a team by team decision. The Philadelphia Phillies have told me that they have done enough.
Until a few years ago the Phillies shared a field with the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. The stadium they shared was named Veterans Stadium, and the POW/MIA flag flew every day. When Vets Stadium was imploded and each team got their own park, the Eagles decided to continue to fly the flag, while the Phillies opted to build a small memorial down the street, in front of a parking lot. There, the five service flags fly with the POW/MIA flag. This is what the Phillies think is enough.
Well, forgive me, but it is not enough. If a franchise that shared in a $6,000,000,000 windfall, primarily due to the freedoms granted by successive generations of veterans, thinks it is enough to honor groups through College, Italian Heritage, Irish Heritage, Asian Pacific Celebration, and 70’s Retro Nights, they can damn sure fly the flag that honors the men who gave them that right. Finally, someone has heard us. A local reporter from one of the newspapers contacted some of us involved, and he got it right. This is a no-brainer and should not have even reached the point where someone would complain. We are at war as a country; no matter what the media may say, and these men deserve their due. For the record, I am certain the men below would love a hot dog and a beer. Apparently the Phillies and most of Major League Baseball simply just don’t care. Manchu.

Eagles!
As opportunities present themselves, so does our need for financing them. As you know, we’re going to be conducting MAJOR events in Washington, DC, in March and April, and we’re putting together a last-minute “support the troops” rally outside Camp Lejeune, NC, this weekend. That event will pretty much drain our bank account. We HAVE to be there, because the notorious Westboro Baptist Church traitors will be celebrating dead Marines on Saturday. We will not let them go unopposed.
As you also know, we don’t build up a capital fund in anticipation of a rainy day. We ask for money when we need it for specific events, and WE NEED IT NOW!
Please help. Send your check to:

Again, please understand that we only ask for your help when it’s required.

A Few More Wins For the Good Guys
January 21, 2008
Late last week two wins were chalked up for the good guys. The first was the case of United States Marine Sgt. McNulty. In brief, an attorney in the Chicago area keyed the Sgt’s car because he had the temerity to honor his service with adornments on the vehicle, and a Marine Corps license plate. The attorney, Jay Grodner, mistakenly believed his position as an officer of the court would shield him from a blatant act of illegality directed at an active duty Marine. The court saw it differently though, and though justice was not served as expressly as I would have wished, it was served. The full transcript of the proceedings makes for good reading; especially when Mr. Grodner is handcuffed in the courtroom and lectured by the judge on the importance of service. Kudos to Beverly Perlson, from the Band of Mothers, and all the Marines who stood in the courtroom to support Sgt. McNulty. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy lives to see that one of our brothers got his day in court.
The second bit of good news comes to us by way of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. We have always surmised that they were pulling the strings of our good friends in the Iraq Veterans Against the War. It seems that there is a new generation who wants to be John Kerry and the VVAW has been happy to mentor them on that path. We now know that our adversaries are not only like the one’s so many of you, my Vietnam brothers endured so long ago, they are one in the same. Late last week, VVAW announced to their email lists that they would be providing guidance and security for the upcoming “Winter Soldier” tribunals. It is not a coincidence that the name is the same. Nor is it any bit of happenstance that the tactics are the same. VVAW has been disparaging service members for 40 years, and they see no reason to quit now. They have just found weak-willed men and women more concerned with political aggrandizement than with maintaining the commitment to honor we all hold dear. The battle lines are public and permanent now. So, thank you VVAW for finally letting the light shine in on your duplicity. We all look forward to seeing you again this March in DC. Manchu.

Well, what a day. Bob would’ve been proud. We had a big turnout today. Both corners stocked with Eagles. Tons of honks, thank yous & thumbs up. Some real passionate expressions from those waiting at red lights. I’m amazed at the general feeling of pro-US support people throw at us. We absolutely get the overwhelming majority of support. One woman, told us that her son was killed in Iraq and how appreciative she was that we’re there. That’s what it’s all about.
At first arrival, it was odd not already seeing Bob on our other
corner, but after a few minutes, it was occupied with patriots &
flags. It was good to see that way.
On the moonbat corner stood the same crew of losers as all the prior weekends. They come late and leave at 3pm sharp like programmed zombies. We shouted them down with creativeness that they just don’t have a response for, other than the usual peace sign, and Zieg Hiel salute. Friggen idiots! You had to be there.
Eagle Flags!
January 17, 2008
Just a quick update about the GoE flags. The orders are rolling in we will need your payment by February 1st. That will conclude the first round of flags. We will then need at least 50% of the payments in to place the order (we’re almost there now with what we have on order, so that shouldn’t be a problem!), and the balance due before he will ship them to us. Fair enough.
You can order on the forum or by contacting me directly at soulkiss03 at yahoo . Just put GoE flag in the subject line please!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who have sent their payments in already.

Urgent News from the Protest Lines
January 16, 2008
Eagles!
The Eagles from in and around Washington, NC, were not able to confront the local moonbats last Sunday. Know why? Our permit was suspended for the rest of the month!
And do you know why our permit was pulled? Because a moonbat assaulted an Eagle!
No way, you say! Yes, way. What happened was that an angry Eagle (not from GOE) went across the street to the moonbat side and started haranguing a nutcase about the sign she was carrying. He so offended her that she tore into him physically, leaving a huge bleeding fingernail wound in his neck.
The Eagle quite naturally pushed this little tornado away, and she tripped over her own feet and fell, hitting her head on the concrete sidewalk and putting quite a contusion on her gourd. Of course, the moonbats called the police, who quickly arrived on the scene.
They quickly determined that the Eagle was assaulted, but they also determined that he was out of line in crossing the street and antagonizing the moonbat.
Last week the Washington Chief of Police summoned me to his office and informed me that our permit was suspended for the month of January. He also told me that we’ll have to renegotiate the terms of our permit, and one of those terms will be that the Eagle involved will not be allowed to participate in the counterprotest.
The lesson learned here is that the Eagles should always occupy the moral high ground. By crossing the street, that lone Eagle, even though he’s not a GOE member, has jeopardized our relations with the local law enforcement folks.
My point is this: we must obey local rules and regulations in all GOE demonstrations and give law enforcement authorities no reason to be concerned about us.

Check out Council lets soldiers vote by phone….WE DID IT
January 15, 2008
This was the first operation we undertook after that glorious day in March. It took us many months, and much continued effort, but it is done. We sent out letters to registered voters, attended Council meetings en masse, and supported the servicemember unconditionally. This is proof positive that we can make a difference if we just keep pushing. This effort may have been in my backyard, but it is a victory for us all. Thank you my brothers and sisters for all the effort. Now let’s press the attack. Manchu.

Hackers attacking GOE members computers?
January 8, 2008
From Bob : Today at 1545 hours I was on the phone with Chris Hill.
I had started my laptop and logged on to my Verizon Wireless account and I received a notice that my Symantic security software had stopped an attack from a Trojan Horse. I opened the details, wrote down the IP address of the attacking computer and emailed my IT guys with the info.
I read my emails and had to call Chris to clarify something. (BTW, the IP address was traced to a Verizon Wireless card in New Jersey. Verizon has been notified)
I was talking to Chris and watching the screen and suddenly my cursor started moving. It went to Start, then run, then letters started appearing in the run box.
A Word From the Chairman
January 8, 2008
Eagles!
Stand by for heavy rolls, as the moonbats seem determined to disrespect the troops in a very public way. They are playing their cards very close to the chest, obviously out of concern that we might interfere with their plans. What they MUST know is that we have some ringers planted in their very highest echelons, and we often know what they’re doing and when they’re doing it before their footsoldiers know!
You can bet (and they can bet!) that we will confront them and, when we can legally do so, disrupt them, much like we did at GOE I. If they try to have a repeat of the 1971 “Winter Soldier Hearings” (which were not hearings at all), they will find that they have made a SERIOUS mistake! And if American University hosts them, they will find that our First Amendment rights will trump their hospitality to the anti-American vermin of the Moonbat Left. (My goodness, but ain’t I waxing poetic?!) If I were the Chancellor of AU, I would make George Soros put up a rather large peace bond…
We still don’t know what day their WS hearings will take place–only that they will be sometime between 3/13 and 3/16. March 15th would be a logical date, but we will be ready for them whenever they decide to disrespect our troops!
But remember! Whatever we do will be peaceful!
And now a less savory subject: the need for money. We don’t know yet what our March 15th expenses will be, but, as for all our previous Gatherings, we will need between $20,000 and $25,000 to pay for the April event. I’m asking that y’all open up your pocketbooks and send your most generous contribution to GOE at PO Box 291; Chocowinity, NC; 27817 or via PayPal at this site.
Please help us accomplish this important mission. Don’t let the moonbats get away with this one like they did in 1971 under the leadership of John F. Kerry, traitor extraordinaire.
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.

Chapel Hill: After Action Report
January 8, 2008
George Samek and the NC Eagles were out to counter the moonbats at UNC-Chapel Hill recently.
Chapel Hill has a long-standing tradition of encouraging freedom of expression and dissension.
During the 1969-70 academic year thousands of UNC students cut classes and risked arrest to take a stand against the Vietnam War.
In January 2007, after President Bush announced his decision to increase the number of troops in Iraq, an influx of anti-war protesters came out of the woodwork at UNC to express their opposition.
“Our goal of change is to press upon Congress to stop the surge,” local protest organizer Allen Spalt said at a Franklin Street protest following Bush’s announcement.
Throughout 2007 protests continued, and while many protests remained civil, some called for police intervention and arrests.
On Feb. 16, six members of UNC’s branch of Students for a Democratic Society were arrested for staging a sit-in at the office of U.S. Rep. David Price, D-N.C.
Although not a war advocate, Price voted to increase funding for the troops in Iraq in an attempt to finance equipment and limit American casualties.
But the SDS members said that regardless of his motives, Price should have opposed the increase.
“We felt like they weren’t listening to us, and we felt like we were getting the same rhetorical answers as always,” SDS member and UNC sophomore Ben Carroll said after being arrested. “We wanted to make it clear that we were not leaving until he heard us.”
SDS is a national organization that has not existed since the mid-1970s, but three students at UNC restarted the organization on campus in September 2006.
On March 20 - the fourth anniversary of the Iraq War - SDS had grown to include about 500 members.
The members walked out of class and marched to Franklin Street to commemorate the lives lost since the war’s inception and demand the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.
At the most recent Iraq protest on Nov. 15, SDS members carried a handmade black coffin filled with black-and-white pictures of victims of the war from both the Iraqi and American sides.
“No justice, no peace - U.S. out of the Middle East,” protesters chanted as they marched from the Pit to the Army recruitment center at 1502 E. Franklin St.
“As an apparatus of the state that allows the war to continue, recruiting stations are perhaps the most relevant targets of anti-war protests.” Carroll said in a Nov. 26 letter to the editor in The Daily Tar Heel.
“If there is no one to fight the war, the war cannot continue.”
Counter-protesters, including a number of veterans and members of the Gathering of Eagles, met the students, waving American flags and urging passing cars to honk in support of the troops.
“These are just young kids who don’t know any better,” said George Samek, a veteran who served in the Vietnam War for two years and a member of the Gathering of Eagles.
“We support our military, and these kids are sitting at the mall sucking down Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.”
Carroll said SDS will continue protesting in an attempt to shut down the East Franklin recruiting station.
“On Nov. 15, we shut down the recruiting station for the entire day, meaning they could not recruit more young people to kill and be killed,” he said.
Face GOE Again? No Way, Say the Anti-America Crowd
January 5, 2008
Eagles!
Do you ever think that we’re spinning our wheels in fighting the America-hating moonbats? Well, consider this:
A.N.S.W.E.R., MoveOn.org, and their affiliated purveyors of political puke have canceled their planned March 15th event! They are increasingly intimidated by the prospect of us and our allies confronting them in the streets wherever that might be, in Hometown, USA, or Washington, DC.
Accordingly, we will not have the “Americans Standing Up” rally in DC on the weekend of March 15th, as there will be no opposition to confront, and you KNOW we love to intimidate those misguided souls and their anti-American leaders like Cindy Sheehan and George Soros!
In a nutshell, WE ARE WINNING THE BATTLE! And we will win the war for the soul of America!
Having achieved victory through our determination to confront the moonbats on their own terms and on terrain of their choosing, we are adopting a different approach for our next event. Having heard that the moonbats are planning to protest the Iraq War during General Petraeus’ April testimony on Capitol Hill, we are challenging THEM to meet US in DC!
If they accept our challenge, we will simply have a repeat performance of March 17, 2007, and most of you remember what happened on that date! That Gathering of Eagles (GOE I) was a watershed event in the history of American street politics in that we patriots have taken back the streets!
Make no mistake—the Let literally HATES us, and they will do what they can to thwart what we’re doing to support our military men and women and our veterans. However, their options are increasingly minimized in view of the fact that Eagles and other Americans are no longer intimidated by loud leftist voices and outrageous signs and banners.
Keep tuned, Eagles! They’ve only BEGUN to deal with people who understand what America’s all about…

GoE Flags
January 4, 2008
Due to the great responce in orders for GOE Flags , and continuing orders still coming in , it has been decided to hold the ordering process OPEN until Feb. 1st . If you have not yet placed an order for your custom made GOE flag you can still do so. We are currently well within our required numbers of flags needed to make the price break , but we want everyone that wishes to have a flag in this first order round to be able to get one . Now’s the time!
After months of discussion and some heated debates, the official design for the Gathering of Eagles flag is complete. We are now taking orders through the forum at:
http://gatheringofeagles.org/forum/?forum=3&topic=2645&page=1
Here is what the flag will look like (minus the state designation):

Please take a moment to visit the forum and let us know what you want. Thank you for your patience while the team worked to design our flag.

We really had a great day in Smithfield last summer. The swamp boat was especially nice–just drowned out the moonbats!
Thanks to Bubba in NC for keeping up with the traitors.
Americans Standing Up in Philadelphia
January 1, 2008
On Sunday, 30 December, 2007 , the Veteran’s for Peace (the old holdovers from VVAW), Code Pink, the usual assortment of leftists and one poor IVAW vet assembled in Philadelphia to call for impeachment of both the President and Vice President. This pathetic assemblage was led by Bill Perry, Vietnam vet and “Winter Soldier” participant. I have included Bill’s testimony below so you can see exactly whom we are up against.
Although we were out-numbered 5 or 6 to one, we made our voices heard and were able to rain on their little America hate-fest. Perry even threw the microphone to the ground when I read his “Winter Soldier” testimony aloud, and the chants of “Soldiers died when Perry lied!” rang out. Several people from the weekly West Chester , PA action joined us, as did a Marine who was just walking by. A number of passers by, including a Blue Star mom, stopped to thank us for not letting these miscreants go unopposed. Never underestimate the power of a few, hearty, extremely loud patriots when we assemble under the flag. It is simply time to take these people on whenever and wherever they gather; no matter the numbers you can muster.
