VFW and American Legion speak out on Berkeley

“The resolution is a direct insult to not only the Marines Corps, but also to all members of the nation’s armed forces,” said George Lisicki, national commander of the VFW, the nation’s largest organization of combat veterans. “Their recent actions represent a calculated effort to legalize harassment of one of our nation’s most elite military organizations. If there were ever a prize awarded for lack of appreciation and awareness for what our military has contributed to preserving our way of life, the Berkeley City Council would certainly win the trophy.”
American Legion:
“Osama bin Laden couldn’t have said it better,” American Legion National Commander Marty Conatser said of the Berkeley City Council Resolution, which tells the Marines that they are not welcome there. “Disgraceful, disloyal, ungrateful. These words are too kind in describing the actions of the public officials in Berkeley, who voted for this disgrace. Nonetheless, our Marines continue to bravely serve and in so doing, allow Americans to spout such foolishness. The American Legion not only strongly condemns this action by the City Council but also believes that a sincere apology is in order to all Marines, past and present.”

Below is a copy of an email that I have sent to my congressmen. I suggest that you highlight the message, then copy & paste it into your word processor. You can then edit it as you see fit. I have found that, however, that attachments sometimes will not come through when attached as a WP file. Therefore, I suggest that after you have edited it, copy/paste it into your email to your congressmen.
Here’s the message:
Please join the rest of us American patriots in expressing our disgust over the unbelievable actions taken recently by the city council of Berkeley, CA, regarding the United States Marine recruiting presence there!!
It is absolutely necessary the the U. S. government immediately cancel the disbursement of any federal monies and place a moratorium on any federal action, aid, or service that will be used within the city limits of Berkeley, CA.
I firmly believe that any senator or representative who fails to co-sponsor legislation to that effect can kiss re-election goodbye!!!!
I can not support a war based on lies, and started by draft-dodging cowards(Bush/Cheney/Wolowitz) who refused to fight in a war.
I myself ,although I have never served anything other than my own purient interests ,am more than willing to fight! I want to fight
this corrupt REGIME!!! I want to fight the Zionist PIGS!!! I will fight to see the Holy Bible replaced by Maos’ Little Red Book and the Koran!!!
I will even dye my hair bright RED , so I will make a better target for any of your cowardly patriot suckers that might think they can take a shot at me.

Just for the record : Despite numerous entreaties and appeals
to support our fledgling GOE effort where I live , the American Legion has shown zero interest and shown not a scintilla of support . This in spite of an national ‘order’ to lend support to any ongoing troop support efforts that organize within their comunities..
Nope..not a thing….
