URGENT: ALL USERS NEED TO CHANGE THEIR PASSWORDS

As you can imagine, hundreds of spam bots, commie trash, and worse hit our site every day. Thousands of fake users try to sign up to spam us, argue, or even attempt to hack the site.

Due to a security issue, ALL users of GOE’s National site only need to change their passwords immediately. This is IMPERATIVE. If you do NOT change your password, you will not be able to comment or use the forums, and I will personally delete your name from the user database as a potential security hole.

This is not a fake post, this is not a hack. My name is Kit Lange, I have been the webmaster of GOE since day one, and I stand behind this post. Please go to http://gatheringofeagles.org/wp-login.php and click the “Forgot Password” link to reset your password.

Even if your current password still works (which it may or may not), you need to do this. If you still have concerns, please email me at kit.lange@gatheringofeagles.org and I will personally change your password.

Thank you for your continued support of GOE! Read below for exact directions on how to change your password.

1. go to
http://gatheringofeagles.org/wp-login.php

2. Click on “Lost Your Password?”

3. Fill in your username and email address

4. Click on “Get New Password” button

5. Go to your email account and open the WordPress email there.

6. Click on the link which will bounce you back to GOE.

7. Go back to your email account and open the second WordPress email.

8. Copy the new password. (Highlight it and press Ctrl C)

7. Go back to
http://gatheringofeagles.org/wp-login.php

8. Enter your username and the new password.

9. You will go directly to your Profile page.

10. Go to the “Update Your Password” section in the lower right corner and type in whatever you wish for your password. Once in each of the boxes there.

11. Click on “Update Profile”

12. Now you should be done. Click on “View Site” next to the Gathering of Eagles title at the top of the page and you are online again.

    GOE new User registrants :
    If you are using your gmail or yahoo acct. to register here with please also give your true name (or a name) and/or a reference URL when you sign up.
    Both GMAIL & YAHOO are proving to be used by spammers hosting spam bots on web forum sites , such as this one. Such spam bots cannot seem to register
    using an actual User name (which admin can see) or do not bother to .
    Odd looking names registering under these domains ,without a true name as well, will usually be tossed out .
    Excuse us if this is an error in your case . Please feel free to re-register ,with some of the info requested above .
