Who says patriots don’t know how to have a good time?
Not me, and I have the pictures to prove it!
4/12/08 - Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY
The family and friends of Lt. Ronald Winchester, USMC, staged the 3rd annual Walk of Honor in Rockville Centre today. Hundreds of friends of Lt. Winchester and our troops staged a four stop marathon of good times to raise funds for the 1st Marine Division Scholarship Fund and the Wounded Warriors Project. Lt. Winchester, a Rockville Centre resident was killed in Al Anbar province, Iraq, in 2005.
Starting off at 2pm at Stingers Pub, the celebrants proceeded to rotate every two hours to a new location. Raffles and 50/50 drawings were held, T-shirts sold, and much spirits imbibed, all in the name of raising funds for these charities.
Your intrepid GOE contingent provided and mounted Marine Corps and US flags at the entrances to each establishment that was visited. It was a tough job, *hic*, but somebody had to do it!
A great time was had by all as the pictures will show.
