A Father Keeps the Faith
May 13, 2008
PFC Byron W. Fouty, 19, of Waterford, Michigan and Spc. Alex R. Jimenez, 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts both of the 10th Mountain Division have been listed as POW/MIA since their patrol was ambushed on 12 May, 2007. In Michigan, Byron’s stepdad has refused to accept anything but that Byron and Alex will one day come home. I have spoken to him on numerous occasions. He is a salt of the earth type. To honor and remember these men a Ride and Rally will be held 17 May, 2008. We can only keep the faith that we will, eventually, get to welcome these brave warriors home. Brothers Byron and Alex, you are not forgotten. Manchu.

Taking Our Brother Home
May 10, 2008
Eagles!
Chris Hill, our National Director, has been coordinating this from the git-go, and I asked him to write up a synopsis of the mission and how it has developed. It is a fine example of what Eagles do, and I want to say, “Well done!” to Chris for his initiative and personal involvement in this event.
It was due solely to Chris’ persistence that the Maryland Transit Authority waived the tolls for the procession and for which GOE thanks the MTA. Again, good work, Chris.
Any Eagles and friends who desire to attend the interment are encouraged to do so.

More Charter Buses Available: New England
September 6, 2007
Eagles - We are working on running a bus Friday night, September 14th at midnight from Schenectady, NY, down the Hudson Valley making stops at Albany, Newburgh, Nanuet and either NYC or Edison, NJ, before heading off to DC. The return trip will leave DC at 5pm and arrive in Albany about midnight Saturday.
Newburgh is easy to reach from western Connecticut on I-84 so Eagles from that region could hook up with it.
Nanuet is pretty close to northern New Jersey if anyone from that area is looking for a ride.
Estimated cost is $80 per seat. If actual cost is less, the difference will be refunded.
Anyone in NY/NJ/CT area interested in riding on this bus should contact Chris at chartersgoe3@yahoo.com or Dan at goe.ny@earthlink.net.

Bus Information for PA-OH-WV
August 30, 2007
Dear PA, OH and WV Eagles,
Right now, I have 40 seats on the bus firmly sold. That leaves me with 16 empty seats at this moment. I priced the bus fare of $45.00 to be as inexpensive as possible (breakfast included), so as many people as possible could afford to go.
My challenge: With 16 unsold seats, I am going to be $720.00 short to pay Anderson Coach and Travel in full (Total $2404.00 for the 56 passenger bus). My final payment (being made by V V A 862) will be due in a few days.
I need help to raise the remaining funds so that we can all go to Washington DC on September 15th—–I just can’t personally pay the extra $720 all by myself. One way or another, we are going, come hell or high water!
While I am still actively trying to sell the additional seats myself, here are other possibilities that you could help with:
1. Talk to your friends and acquaintances and invite them to come with you…$45.00 is a cheap trip to Washinfton DC and will be exciting and historic! Plus, we’ll have a blast!
2. Any of you Eagles that are not able to go this time might consider donating (1) $45.00 seat to someone who can’t afford to go—-this would be a great way to still participate! (My husband, Chuck is donating 2 free seats…$90.00…to get this ball rolling!)
3. Each of us that are going could volunteer to pay an extra $18.00 each to make up the balance due (if I sell more or all seats–I will refund your $18.00).
4. If you know someone who is rich and patriotic, ask them to cut V V A 862 a check for $720.00…I’ll check to see if we could get them a non-for-profit tax donation receipt.
5. If you know the Indiana Power Ball Winner, please ask them to send V V A 862 a check for the balance of what we owe.
6. I’ll entertain any other suggestions that you can come up with–please contact me with any ideas!
***Any money to help offset our shortfall can be sent to:

One exciting update: In our company on Sept. 15th, we will have a number of patriotic riders from The War Dogs Motorcycle Club riding along with our bus on their motorcycles to Washington DC. We will likely have a few on our bus, as well. Welcome War Dogs!
Things are really picking up for the September 15th showdown with the “moonbats”. More and more Veteran and patriotic groups are endorsing Eagles Landing/GOE III daily. Press conferences and radio interviews are increasing as well. I will let you know when Larry Richert of Pittsburgh’s KDKA AM Radio Show will be interviewing my Father, Col. Harry G. Riley (USA, Ret) on the Sept. 15th event.
If anyone is interested in an “Eagles Up” Tee shirt, you can order one at the Eagles Up online store at this link: http://www.printfection.com/eaglesup/ (I have no financial interest).
OK everyone, it’s time to get fired up to STAND for OUR TROOPS and VETERANS! May God Bless America and Eagles, everywhere!

Eagles Needed in TEXAS September 1, 2007!
August 21, 2007
Presidential candidates, congress members and the world media will be in Fort Worth,Texas attending the Texas Republican Straw Poll Townhall Convention on September 1, 2007 - days prior to General Petreaus’ report to the nation about the ongoing war and occupation in Iraq. Americans from across the country will descend on Fort Worth to express their opinion on the war. With a massive outlet for Eagles to express their pro-troop feelings, the anti-war demonstrators have decided to go all out. For example, Texans for Peace has issued the following: “You are invited to join in the “American People’s Poll on Iraq - Texas Townhall” rally and other events to demonstrate where you stand and call to End the War! Bring Our Troops Home Now!” while distributing the following posters throughout the DFW Metroplex:
One Dead Soldier, Blood is Red, Funding the War, Save Our Soldiers, Whose Side, and War is Failure.
Texans for Peace, The Dallas Peace Center, Code Pink, Veterans against the War, Iraq Veterans against the War, and Peace Action Texas have decided to canvas the poll from 9am to 5pm outside of the Fort Worth Convention Center. The will also be gathering from 1:30pm to 3:30 pm on Main Street to rally. Read more

If you’re looking for posters, brochures, or other media to print and take to your next GOE rally, look no further. We’ve made a directory for you to grab this type of stuff, and you’re free to download anything in there for use at rallies and other GOE activities.
While we’ve just started it, never fear. We’ll be adding to it all the time, so check back often. If you have a poster design you’ve used and you’d like to share with other Eagles nationwide, send me the design at kit.lange@gatheringofeagles.org with permission to distribute it. We’ll make it available!

Eagles UP!
From the Desk of GOE Chairman, Larry Bailey
July 12, 2007
Eagles, I have been bombarded from left and right over the last several days by those who insist on being in the faces of the moonbats on Sept. 15th. And there are very good reasons for doing just that.
Having discussed the pros and cons of the situation with a number of folks whose advice we value, we, the board, have come to the conclusion that GOE will be best served by mounting a go-for-broke operation on Sept. 15th in addition to the Confront Congress event on the 10th.
But you know what? It’s going to take LOT of money and a LOT of cooperation from all of us. I am in a major-donor mode at the moment, and I have hopes of generating sufficient money to at least match our GOE I performance.
And we are in contact with several sister organizations who want to follow GOE’s lead on both dates. I will keep you apprised of developments as they occur.
I confess that I took a long time and endured no small amount of pain in coming to this conclusion, but I only have to be hit over the head with a two-by-four so many times before I get the message.
Thanks to those sober-minded Eagles who finally convinced your leadership to “do the right thing.”
THE MESSAGE: Stand by, Eagles, for a week that is going to go down as “the week that was” for both Congress and the moonbats!
Now, folks, let me see that contribution graph bar start to move rapidly to the right! We will need a LOT of donations between now and September!
Larry Bailey

WE HEARD YOU, GOE IS ANSWERING
July 12, 2007
An ever-growing number of Eagles have been posting to the forum, emailing each other and contacting the leadership of GOE regarding A.N.S.W.E.R.’s march in the nation’s capital on September 15. In my position as National Director for Operations I have been instructed to plan a counter protest for September 15 in response to your raised voices.
We are still taking our fight to Congress on September 10, but in homage to our birth we will also counter A.N.S.W.E.R. 5 days later. We will need support at both these events, but to judge by your postings we will have it. We are coordinating with multiple,
like-minded organizations on both dates. We fully expect to make a difference in Congress and then remind A.N.S.W.E.R., on the streets of Washington, D.C., that we are not going away as long as men and women in uniform need us.
This is the solution to all of your concerns. Those of you, like me, who have been angling to take Congress to task for their dishonorable actions need to join us on September 10. Those of you, also like me, who want to remind A.N.S.W.E.R. that we have beaten them before, can meet us on September 15. A number of you will attend both actions, and some of you will have to make the hard decision of choosing between them. Whatever you decide, I will be at both. I understand the hardship, both financial and otherwise, this presents to many of you. I am honored to stand with you. I applaud you, the patriotic Americans, who have continued to support our men and women in harm’s way, even though it would be easier not to. I, like you, consider it an obligation to champion our troops cause while they fight to protect our way of life. So, I have much to do, and not long in which to do it, but more has been done with less. We will post details as they develop.
With the support of you, the men and women of GOE, all things are possible. It is time to ruck-up and BUY THE TROOPS SOME TIME. I promise to give it my all. Manchu.
