ARMY STRONG SUPPORT MISSION

Multiple virulent anti-American groups announced their intention to
Shut Down the Army Experience Center here in Philadelphia on
9/12/2009.  Months ago the Army had announced their intentions to have
a 9/11 Commemoration at the site on 9/12 and this, apparently, was too
much for those who hate this country.  The Army reached out to the
veteran's community here for an assist and assist we did.  First, I
must thank my GoE A-Team that arrived extra early and organized the
ground forces.  Special thanks to Bill, Jim, Kathy, Gina, Carolyn and
Fernando.  This mission could not have succeeded without you, and I am
honored to stand with you all.

While GoE was arranging the ground defense, members of the Viet Nam
Veterans MC, Second Brigade MC, the Warriors' Watch Riders, the PA
Confederation of Clubs, and a number of individuals, came together to
ride in defense of the A.E.C.  We arrived in a mass of American Iron
and poured into the A.E.C.  Gentlemen, I have never been prouder to be
a veteran than I was to ride with you and then stand with you all to
support the A.E.C.  You all awe me with your patriotism and respect
for our brave men and women in uniform.

When the protesters marched into the mall they were met by a wall of
red, white and blue.  The 9/11 Commemoration was not disrupted, and
the A.E.C., which the miscreants had announced would be shut down by
them, was not breached.  I must mention how impressed I was by the
military personnel at the A.E.C.  From the top down they are a
high-speed, low-drag group of men and women who I am honored to call
my brothers and sisters in arms.  We in the combat arms MOS have
frequently cast aspersions on recruiters.  Well, allow me to say
publicly that this group represents the best and brightest of the
Army, and with whom I would not hesitate to share a fighting position.
Thank you for allowing me to be counted amongst your numbers.

Mission accomplished ladies and gentlemen.  I am honored to stand with
you all and awed by your love for both our brave men and women in
uniform and the country.  Manchu

Our NAVY family showed up to lend a hand, and the AAR takes up about 1/3 of my column this week at: http://constitutionalcrawfish.blogtownhall.com/2009/09/14/9-14-09_the_weekly_claw.thtml
